Red, White & Glam Event

On July 4th 2019, Residents of an Assisted Living Facility, Tribute at one Loudoun located in Ashburn, Northern Virginia were treated to a make over and photo shoot dubbed Red, White and Glam.

SYNERGY HomeCare of Loudoun sponsored this event, which was part of SYNERGY HomeCare’s Senior Selfie Month. Throughout July, seniors can take part in the Senior Selfie Challenge: snap a selfie and raise money for the fight against Alzheimer’s.

For every Senior Selfie posted to SYNERGY HomeCare’s Facebook page, the in-home care franchise organization will donate $5 to the National Alzheimer’s Association. Seniors are encouraged to use the (hashtags) #SeniorSelfie and #EndAlz when posting.

In the late stages of Alzheimer’s disease, people lose the ability to smile. We want to keep our loved ones smiling as long as possible. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, it’s the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death and someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s every 65 seconds. While some memory loss or cognitive decline is a part of aging, Alzheimer’s is not. The condition worsens over time and there is no cure.

Seniors showed off their patriotism.

Guests learned how to post pictures on social media so they could connect with their family and friends.
